Studio policies

Welcome

Welcome to Tender Branch Studio! I'm so glad you've chosen to be part of our creative community. My goal is to provide a safe, encouraging environment where every child can explore creativity, develop artistic skills, and grow in confidence. The following policies help ensure a positive experience for every student and family.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Policy

To create a calm, focused learning environment, Tender Branch Studio classes are drop-off only unless otherwise noted. Students are typically more engaged and confident when they have the opportunity to create independently, and this policy helps minimize distractions during class.

Parents are welcome to arrive 10–15 minutes early for their child's first class to meet the instructor, see the studio, and ask any questions before class begins. At the conclusion of class, please arrive promptly for pick-up. If someone other than a parent or guardian will be picking up your child, please let me know in advance.

Because classes are held in our family home, we are unable to accommodate parents or siblings waiting inside or elsewhere on the property during class.

Arrival

Please arrive no more than five minutes before your scheduled class unless we have arranged otherwise. This allows time to prepare the studio and welcome students as they arrive.

Attendance & Missed Classes

Because projects and instruction are planned for each session, regular attendance is encouraged. If your child is unable to attend, please notify me as soon as possible.

Missed classes are generally non-refundable. If space and scheduling allow, I may be able to offer a make-up class, but make-up sessions cannot be guaranteed.

Illness Policy

Please keep your child home if they have had a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or another contagious illness within the previous 24 hours. If a student becomes ill during class, a parent or guardian will be contacted for prompt pick-up.

Clothing

Art is wonderfully messy! While aprons may be provided for certain projects, paint, ink, clay, and other materials can permanently stain clothing. Please send your child in comfortable clothes that can get messy.

Student Behavior

Tender Branch Studio strives to be a welcoming, respectful environment where every student feels safe to create. Students are expected to treat one another with kindness, use art materials responsibly, listen to instructions, and show respect for the studio and its supplies.

If a student's behavior repeatedly disrupts the class or creates an unsafe environment, I may ask a parent or guardian to pick up their child early. Continued behavioral concerns may result in dismissal from future classes.

Medical Information & Allergies

Please inform me of any allergies, medical conditions, medications, sensory sensitivities, mobility concerns, or learning accommodations that may help your child have a safe and successful experience. My goal is to support each student to the best of my ability while recognizing that I am not a medical professional.

Parents are responsible for providing any necessary emergency medications, such as inhalers or EpiPens, along with instructions for their use.

Photography Permission

From time to time, photographs may be taken during class to celebrate student artwork and share the creative experiences at Tender Branch Studio through the website, social media, or printed materials. No student names will be published without permission.

Parents may choose whether or not to grant permission for their child's photograph or artwork to be used.

Home Studio

Tender Branch Studio classes are held in a private residence that has been thoughtfully prepared as an art studio. While every reasonable effort is made to provide a safe and welcoming environment, participation in classes involves the ordinary risks associated with art materials, movement, and activities within a residential setting.

Liability & Emergency Care

By enrolling their child, parents acknowledge the ordinary risks associated with participation in art activities, including the use of age-appropriate art tools and materials. Parents agree to release Tender Branch Studio and its instructor from liability for injuries resulting from ordinary accidents, except where prohibited by law or caused by gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

In the event of a medical emergency, every reasonable effort will be made to contact a parent or guardian immediately. If a parent or emergency contact cannot be reached, I authorize Tender Branch Studio to seek emergency medical treatment for my child as deemed necessary by emergency medical personnel.

Communication

If you have questions, concerns, or information that will help me better support your child, please don't hesitate to reach out. I value open communication and want every student to have a positive and meaningful experience at Tender Branch Studio.

Thank you for trusting me with your young artist. I look forward to creating together!
